FRAGA WAS FOUNDED IN 1999 BY RICHARD JANKOVICH. OUR FIRST RELEASE WAS BURNSIDE PROJECT (2000). OTHER NOTABLES RELEASES INCLUDE 2009 SINGLES BY POCKET AND THE 2015 DOUBLE LP BY MON DRAGGOR. THE SWEET SWEET IMPRINT WAS CREATED IN 2016 FOR NEW RELEASES BY BIG MOTHER GIG AS WELL AS RE-ISSUES BY OTHER ARTISTS.

Big Mother Gig

Big Mother Gig is an alternative rock band originally founded in Milwaukee, WI in 1992 and currently based in Los Angeles, CA. In 2016, Big Mother Gig released their entire discography digitally for the first time and announced a new EP as well as a reunion show in Milwaukee featuring 3/4s of the classic 1996 line-up. The band, now based in Los Angeles with Jankovich, Mike Datz (guitar), Micah Lopez (bass) and Albert Kurniawan (drums), dropped singles through 2017 and 2018. On October 12, 2018, they released “No More Questions” which collected tracks from the EP, the singles they had released throughout 2018 and brand new songs including “Low Payout” featuring Dicky Barrett (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones) and “Our Cover’s Blown” featuring Britta Phillips (Luna) and co-written with author Rick Moody.

Burnside Project

Burnside Project is a New York–based electro-pop, indie rock band. In 2000, they released the self-titled Burnside Project CD independently which led to interest from record labels including Bar/None, whom BP signed with in 2002. This album was subsequently re-mastered and re-packaged for wide release in 2007 on Fraga Records. Burnside Project released 3 LPs on Bar/None Records which were critically acclaimed and received widespread support including heavy rotation on Seattle’s KEXP, an A- in SPIN, placement on Rolling Stone’s “Hot List” and nomination for a Shortlist Music Prize by acclaimed writer/director, Cameron Crowe. The single “Cue the Pulse to Begin”, from The Networks, the Circuits, the Streams, the Harmonies, was used as the theme song to seasons 4 and 5 of the US TV series Queer as Folk and was also a top 10 radio hit in Japan. On September 9, 2016, the band released Syntax and Semantics, their third album on Bar/None Records, comprised of music recorded in 2004.

Pocket

In 2005, Pocket released his first remix ito critical blog acclaim. Many of his subsequent remixes received positive critical reviews from websites such as Stereogum, Pitchfork and Brooklyn Vegan. In 2007, Pocket’s remix for Radiohead’s cover of Björk’s “Unravel” was nominated for the 2007 Village Voice Pazz and Jop poll. In 2009, Pocket released a series of singles featuring Robyn Hitchcock, Craig Wedren (Shudder to Think), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Danny Seim (Menomena) and Mark Burgess (The Chameleons). In 2012, these singles were collected on an album, All of This Happened, released on Tirk Records. In 2018, Pocket released the VLT EPs, comprised of remixes and unreleased singles from 2012.

Mon Draggor

Mon Draggor’s double LP “Pulling Strings/Pushing Buttons” was selected as 9th best album of 2015 by PopMatters. In 2018, “Passing Time Picking Bones” was released with contained unreleased material.
